Declaration Of Independence: Divine Quote
 

    Within the bold and declarative truths of freedom, found within the Declaration Of Independence, a certain portion stands out and glows with divinity.  Here are those words:

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.  That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, . . .    

    To derive the full benefit from this divine verse we must closely examine its parts to fully understand the significance of its meaning.

    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, …"

    The method of learning truth can transcend mortal faculties.  Just and divine principles carry with it, its own conviction of truth.

    "…that all men are created…"

    Declares that God is the source of existence.

    "…equal, …"

    We are all equal in His eyes, have equal value and are to be equal before the law with equal rights and opportunity.  This rejects special privileges to receive equal things.

    "…that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, …"

    Rights come from God, not government and cannot be taken (without due process) by man or government without incurring His wrath.  A right does not obligate or diminish the right of another.  A genuine right must be shared equally and simultaneously by all.

    "…that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

    These "Rights" are necessary to fulfill the plan of God – Life, for existence to progress – Liberty, for the freedom to choose and to be held accountable for our acts – pursuit of Happiness , which only exists with the right to and control of property.Property is essential for self reliance; it keeps us from looking to government for subsistence.

    "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, …"

    Declares that the purpose of government is to protect God given inalienable rights.  Government is not to provide 2 for the people; such provision being a proven road to tyranny.

    "…deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, …"

    Declares that the sovereign power in the nation is the "People ," who are the creator of and superior to government.

    1) John Adams:  "The moment the idea is admitted into society that property is not as sacred as the laws of God, and that there is not a force of law and public justice to protect it, anarchy and tyranny commence.  Property must be secured, or liberty cannot exist."  (The Works of John Adams, ed. by Charles Francis Adams, Boston:  Charles C. Little and James Brown, 1851, Vol. 6, pp. 9 and 280)

    2) Thomas Jefferson:  "If we can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people, under the pretense of taking care of them, they must become happy."  (Bergh 10:342., 1802)
