Lessons Not Learned

How Serious Are Our National Problems?
What's causing the problems and what can be done to solve them?

Historically, liberty and rights have been crushed by rulers in one oppressive government after another.  A sad lesson of history shows that tyrannical governments rise, only when assisted by "good" people.  Thereafter, millions suffer and die, as freedom becomes only a memory.  In the past, citizens have accepted tyrants and tyrannical ideas only to discover their mistake after it's too late.  Good people unwittingly help evil, simply because of the things they do not understand! 

America today is repeating this sad tale.  However, there have always been some who recognized the harmful ideas, before it became obvious to the majority.  How did they do it?  We have grown up knowing freedom and prosperity.  Nevertheless, today, many are unaware of the proper role of government.  Therefore, we are ripe to repeat the mistakes of the past.

We think ourselves wise because we know that Nazism and Communism are bad.  Yet, as a Nation, we support many of the same bogus doctrines of those systems, when it is disguised in outward appearance and has a new and acceptable name.  People will accept tyranny if it is called Democracy or Liberty or Equality.  Honorable labels are always used to cover up evil work.

Today, in these United States of America, we have millions of citizens that are intelligent, educated, responsible, religious and decent people, that simply do not know how to identify a bad political proposal when it is promoted as beneficial and public spirited.  To learn the proper role of government and to gain the knowledge needed to rise above the rhetoric, acquire
